What is Scientific Literacy:

Scientific literacy is an understanding of scientific concepts. It is the process of understanding scientific concepts so that individuals can make decisions to part-take in cultural affairs as well as economic productivity.

An example of scientific literacy would be my species reports. It demonstrated that I was able to find article sources and then explain what my species entailed.

Importance of Scientific Literacy: 

Scientific literacy is important in our everyday use because it enables individuals to ask a question, find or determine answers to a question.  Scientific literacy enables individuals to describe or explain natural phenomena that they have discovered. Also, it enables individuals to read scientific articles with the understanding of what the articles are conveying. Understanding the scientific article it then enables individuals to engage in social conversation and discuss the findings of the articles.
